By participating in staking, users voluntarily lock ESX tokens in a smart contract they control via their own wallet.
Staking participation may result in variable protocol rewards. Rewards are not guaranteed, may fluctuate over time, and depend on protocol conditions and governance parameters.
How Rewards Work
Staking participation currently takes place prior to the launch of the ESX Layer-1 blockchain. During this phase, users may lock ESX tokens to participate in protocol-defined participation mechanisms intended to support the future ESX ecosystem.
Reward Allocation
Rewards, if generated, are allocated from protocol-defined monthly reward pools. For each month, the protocol may allocate a pool of ESX tokens. The size of the pool is determined based on protocol parameters and participation conditions and may vary from month to month. Every month the size of the pool will be announced.
Allocation among participants is based on relative participation compared to all other participants during the relevant period. Lock-up duration is one of the factors used to determine participation weight for reward allocation.
